Story of Valkyria Chronicles 2

The story of Valkyria Chronicles 2 focuses on a civil war within the small Europan nation of Gallia in 1937, two years after the events of the first Valkyria Chronicles on PS3. A rebel group known as the Gallian Revolutionary Army made up of dissatisfied aristocrats, citizens and soldiers prepares to fight againts other Gallians that are of Darcsen descent. Due to to events in Valkyria Chronicles the Gallian army is exauhsted and unprepared to appose the insurrection from gaining momentum. The government has to deploy military academy cadets to fight the Gallian Revolutionary Army because current law does not allow the formation of a national militia to fight fellow Gallians. Avan Hardence, a 17 year old cadet, is one of many young Gallians sent to the front lines. Avan enrolled to the Lanseal Military Academy after the death of his older brother.

As the epic drama in Valkyria Chronicles 2 unfolds, players will experience stories of friendship, love and growing pains during a time of war and revolution.

Valkyria Chronicles' BLiTZ battle system is back with a PSP re-design that will offer players the freedom to strategically move around environments and attack enemies in real-time. The CANVAS engine has also been redesigned for the graphical capabilities of the PSP system. The CANVAS engine powers over 20 new distinct environments in which players are given hundreds of different missions to explore.

Valkyria Chronicles 2 Multiplayer

Sega has confirmed that Valkyria Chronicles 2 for PSP will support ad-hoc versus and co-op multiplayer modes.

Both co-op and versus play will be supported, a SEGA representative reported, but left it at that. "We can't really talk too much about it in detail yet."

"When we looked at the BLiTZ battle system specifically - especially in the Japanese market - co-op play and wireless play is becoming more and more popular and we felt that would expand the gameplay for the title in a great way," the rep said. "When we went further in that direction we discovered that the PSP is the perfect platform to take advantage of that."

Multiplayer was not present in the original Valkyria Chronicles and while Valkyria Chronicles 2 will only support local multiplayer with no online, it is still welcomed as multiplayer of any kind is arguably the most wanted feature among fans.
